Dear Khun Chairat,

Sawasdee ka, I'm sorry that I haven't keep in touch for the last 6 months. I'm pretty fine here. Now, I'm leaving with my second host family and I'm changing to my third host on this coming friday. I'm pretty excited because it's my spring break. On the other hand, I'm sad to leave my second host because they are very nice.

During the past six months, I got to do a lot of fun stuffs. I had experienced sadness and happiness all along the way. When I first got here, it was pretty good. My first host is a single grandma, she's a vegetarian. Quite interesting huh? I thought it's going to be hard to adapt myself not to eat meat but it's not that hard after all. My school that I goes to is "Fruita Monument High School". Which is a pretty large high school (about 1,500 students). My school has another 4 exchange students, one from Germany, one from Brazil, and two from Poland. There is also an Interact club in my school which I join and we have a meeting every friday during lunch. I really enjoy my school!

After a while, I join a swim team during winter sports. It was my first time to swim competitively. The practice was really hard and tired. I have practice from 3-5:30pm, on Mon, Wed, and Fri. While, on Tues and Thurs, I have weights from 3-4pm, then swim from 4-6pm. On the first few weeks, I can tell that my body is really sore and tired. But after all, it was such a nice experience to be in a swim team.

I'm doing fine with my study, so far I have one B in Trigonometry, the rest are all A's. I even get an A+ on my US history! Now, I'm studying on my pre-calculus and chemistry. I'm hoping to get A's on that too. I also join the choir at school and we're going to compete in April. The choir was really fun!

I had met with other exchange students in my district, 5470, quite several times. Fortunately, I have another thai friends in my district, Kitichai. We've been to the district conference in October, which I sang a Thai song for the country presentation. (Kitichai (Pau) plays the guitar for me) We went to Mesa Verde which was the home of the Anazazi("the one that came before") Indians. We took a lot of pictures and it was really pretty there. Then, we met again in December for American's interview. This is a great opportunity because we got to present our country presentation to the American kids. Our presentation was really impressing to other americans. Many of them want to go to Thailand. By the way, it was really fun to meet other exchange students once again. Then, in February, we went to Glenwood Springs, and have a lot of fun!

All of my experiences wouldn't happen if it's not because of your support. Thank you very much for giving me such a great opportunity to be a representative from Thailand to show Americans our culture. I'm sure that this opportunity doesnt' come everyday and I'm really grateful for it. Thank you very much ka!

Sincerely yours,

Visuta Panit (Obey)
